Product Spotlight: The Real Kurupt’s Moonrocks

BY MARIE LODI

A cannabis product endorsed by a celebrity is one thing, but it’s quite another matter when said celeb is the mastermind of something deemed highly innovative and extremely potent. In 2017, legendary hip-hop artist Kurupt teamed up with cannabis brand Dr. Zodiak to create this coated bud product that is not ideal for newbies, or even some cannabis connoisseurs for that matter. Serious stoners, be warned: They’re apparently too strong even for Snoop Dogg. “Moon Rock is too much, dog,” Snoop told Charlamagne tha God on an episode of The Breakfast Club. “It’s too much for me.” Yes, he said that.

About Moonrocks

At first glance, a Moonrock almost looks like an edible, or, more specifically, a cannabis chocolate truffle. It has an uncanny resemblance to Bubblicious Burst's gum from the ‘80s—you know, the kind with a juicy center. Moonrocks, however, are not anything you’d want to eat. It consists of three layers: high-quality cannabis buds that are dipped in hash oil and then rolled in kief. Think of it as a sort of weed turducken. As for the THC content, it averages about 50%—though the new rosin versions reach up to 64%. Again, these concoctions are not for the faint of heart. So, clear your schedule and make sure you’re stocked up with all the munchie-friendly snacks you can get your hands on.
