DIY Recipe: Sleep Better With This CBD Salve


Though there are plenty of incredible CBD topicals on the market (some of the best are stocked at MedMen), consider putting those crafty DIY talents to good use by making your own pampering potion, especially with something as surprisingly easy as a CBD salve. In general, salves can be good for everything from pain relief, easing tension, relieving dry, itchy skin, and helping with sleep. When CBD enters the picture, you’ll get an extra boost of healing, due to its potential anti-inflammatory benefits.

Using just a few easy-to-procure ingredients, you can make a CBD-infused sleep salve for significantly more restful slumbering. This recipe uses lavender and tonka oils—known to promote quality zzz’s, both essential oils can effectively relax, calm, and ease stress. Just swing by your nearest MedMen and pick up your favorite CBD tincture, and you’ll be that much closer to a truly solid night of snoozing.



  • 4 oz. carrier oil (coconut oil, sweet almond oil, or olive oil)

  • 1 oz. beeswax pellets

  • Lavender essential oil

  • Tonka essential oil

  • CBD tincture from MedMen

  • Metal tins or glass jars


  1. Using a double boiler, heat beeswax over low heat until melted

  2. Add your choice of carrier oil and stir until mixed

  3. Remove from heat

  4. While mixture is still warm, pour into tins or jars

  5. Quickly add 1-2 drops of lavender and Tonka oil, and 2 drops of CBD tincture. Stir thoroughly

  6. Let mixture cool and solidify completely

  7. Cover and store in a cool, dark location; be sure to use within a year
