Here’s a New Year’s resolution idea: think about what you want more or less of in your life and make a list. Make it vague — like say more healthy choices and less unrealistic expectations. Then you can try little things, like adding a delicious smoothie to your breakfast routine. And if you like CBD cocktails to help you wind down at the end of the workday, why not try a CBD-infused smoothie to jumpstart your morning?
Carlene Thomas, RDN, author of CBD Drinks for Health, shares an exclusive recipe. Her smoothie starts with bananas — they moderate blood sugar levels, improve digestion, support heart health, and aid in muscle recovery when you’re feeling sore and cramped. Golden milk, which is made from turmeric, cinnamon, and ginger, has major anti-inflammatory properties and boosts the nutritional value. You can find that as a pre-made mix. To help you feel full and focused, Thomas adds in nut butter — feel free to use whatever you like best. The cherry on top is CBD oil, which helps with stress and anxiety, inflammation and pain. “A morning CBD smoothie can meet your breakfast on-the-go needs, while preemptively dealing with stress that can creep up as the day starts,” says Thomas. 1 1/2 peeled, frozen bananas broken into chunks
2 teaspoons golden milk mix, Thomas recommends Gaia Herbs Golden Milk
1 Tablespoon nut butter of choice
2 cups vanilla almond milk or milk of choice
1 serving of the CBD tincture of your choice
Add ingredients to a high-powered blender. Blend until smooth and combined.
Divide into two glasses, serve immediately.
