The Only Avocado Toast Recipe You’ll Need

Is there a breakfast food more misunderstood than avocado toast? The dish has gone from Instagram darling to millenial punchline (because apparently it’s the reason why a generation can’t afford to buy a house) to cultural stereotype. Mock the brunch favorite all you want but you have to admit, it beats a sad, bland bowl of oatmeal any day of the week. And yes, it’s an easy dish to make but have you thought about taking it to the next level by adding a cannabis infused olive oil? Try it for your next lazy Sunday morning and you’ll never dismiss this dish as basic ever again.

Avocado Toast (serves two)


1 ripe avocado

Four slices of sourdough bread

1 tablespoon of a cannabis infused oil like Potli

¼ wedge of lemon 

Salt and pepper, to taste

Red pepper flakes, to taste


  1. Slice your avocado in half and remove the pit. Scrape the contents into a small bowl.

  2. Using a fork, mash it up. You want it to be spreadable but not too smooth — there should be some chunks for texture.

  3. Squeeze the lemon and add salt and pepper to taste.

  4. Toast your sourdough bread.

  5. Spoon the avocado mixture evenly over each slice.

  6. Drizzle infused olive oil over all four slices. If you’re using Potli, one tablespoon contains 15mg of THCa and 15mg of CBD so each serving has about 7.5 mg of cannabinoids. It’s enough to make you feel pleasantly relaxed but not too high.

  7. Finish by adding red pepper flakes as well as any other toppings like cherry tomatoes or a fried egg.
